The museum is closed on Sundays, Mondays, all of January, and on most holidays.
Regular hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The last tour is taken no later than 4:00 pm.
Tours are done on demand, so your tour will start when you arrive. Please allow 1-1 1/2 hours for your tour.
SEVERE WEATHER: The Historic General Dodge House follows the Council Bluffs School District for school closings and weekend activities in the event of severe weather. In the event of unexpected severe weather, the museum may close. It is always a good idea to call ahead to make sure we are open. Our number is (712) 322-2406. General Admission:
Adults (19-64), $10; Seniors (65+), $5; Students (6-18), $5; Veterans with ID, $5; Children (under 6), free.
If you would like to purchase general admission tickets as gifts, you can do so in person at the Dodge House or call / email us to arrange them to be mailed to a physical address.
School Tour Groups:
Groups of 15 or more — Youth, $3; Adults/Chaperones, $5; Teacher and Bus Driver, free.

From Interstate 80/29: Take the Council Bluffs Business District Exit 3. Turn left onto the South Expressway, North Hwy 192. Follow Expressway over the bridge. Turn right on Fifth Ave. Stay on Fifth (there’s a jog). Turn right onto Third street. The DH is two blocks further on left, park in parking lot on right or on the street.
From Broadway (Downtown Omaha): Follow Broadway to South Seventh Street. Turn right onto South Seventh Street. Turn left onto Fifth Ave. Turn right onto Third Street. The DH is two blocks further on left, park in lot on right or on the street.
Buses and RVs please park on street. Other vehicles may park on the street or in our parking lot to the west of Third Street.
